Mokume Gane and Sterling Silver Bat Necklace

For sale on ebay, Martin Siebach writes:

Hand-forged in my own furnace, this mokume gane bat is made from 29 layers of red brass and copper. I hand-forged the chain from sterling silver. Set with glowing garnet eyes, it is a striking piece. It measures approx. 18" in total length. The bat itself is approx. 3 5/8" wide by 2 5/8" in height. All of my pieces bear my maker's mark.

This is a one-of-a-kind necklace. Each piece of mokume gane that I create is absolutely unique. The serendipity of the hand-forging, coupled with the behavior of the each metal on any given day when being forged, patterned and patinated, make it impossible to create the same piece twice.
