"KICKSTART KUTIES"
Scooter Pin-Up Benefit Art Show at CAFE RACER
Local cartoonists Ellen Forney, Bruce Bickford, Jim Woodring, Bob Rini, David Lasky, Matt Rodriguez and a host of others proffer beguiling pictures of babes on bikes- priced to move!
Seattle's landmark scooter hangout Cafe Racer (5828 Roosevelt NE, two doors south of The Trading Musician) is also the clubhouse of The Friends of the Nib, a loose association of local cartoonists who meet there on Wednesdy evenings to share ideas, talk shop and network.
On Saturday, September 30 they will open a show of original scooter-themed pin-up art in a variety of mediums and sizes, all featuring primo examples of warm steel and tender flesh guaranteed to get your engines revving. 100% of all proceeds from art sales will go to Jason Gooder, who was recently injured in a fall.
The opening night is sure to be a rip-snortin' wing-ding! Most of the artists will be in attendance, and since the Seattle Vespa Club will be in town you can expect to see a lot of great-looking machines and the free-wheeling iconoclasts who ride them.
So come on down and get the perfect piece of original art to dress up that empty corner in the the rumpus room! Beer, wine, liquor and food will be available as usual, plus extra treats and surprises.

Here is a link David Laskey sent me. It's the most brilliant comics-to-film adaptation I've ever seen. David, by the way, was just included in the Best Cartoons of 2006 book Harvey Pekar edited. Hooray, David! (He's in the scooter show, too).
Submitted for your approval, a very weird Mary Worth comic:
