Fancy Eggs of my Dreams

I do so love Faberge Eggs- the totally over the top gaudy adornment, the miniscule insanely detailed surprises inside like entire tiny trains, gilded roosters that pop out and crow, a pearl knob, which when twisted, reveals portrait of a Russian Czar and his daughters, the outrageously expensive materials they're made with, the years of intense crafting that went into them, the scinttillating tales of their gifting between vastly wealthy patrons, and eventual adventures and misadventures.

I especially love that many of them are currently 'missing' (?!?). One of my favorites is the "Peacock Egg", which holds a tiny peacock that, when removed and wound up, walks, turns it head from side to side and ruffles its plumage.
