Time to draw a wendigo! Sometimes depicted as a shaggy, sasquatch-like cryptid, sometimes as an antlered forest demon. Sometimes wendigos (or windigos) are not depicted at all, but referred to as fearsome evil wind spirits that drive folks in remote northern locations to do crazy stuff like eat their buds and make drum kits outta their skin. This one is based on the old, often-anthologized Algernon Blackwood tale so masterfully illustrated by Matt Fox back in a 1944 issue of Famous Fantastic Mysteries.
One of those exercises in trying to make something at least look interesting, when you're starting out with something that's maybe a bit on the prosaic side of the tracks (shades of Penthouse Forum '78... do women really obsess over where their cherries went?). This is my version of one of the three FFWD readers' winning XXXmas story contest entries... Was last year's sexier? Scarier?
