Under The Wing

I was thinking about camping over the weekend. Not the tent in the bush type camping, which is fine from what I remember way back when and I wanted to get away from my parents a hundred years ago, but instead, lying under a particular Navion wing. The idea came to me on a blistering day at the Arlington Airshow as I was reclining under pictured wing -the same wing that flew us there. This was the second year I was lucky enough to attend and rather than burning my face off like I did last year, Ginny and I decided to spend much time just relaxing after checking out all we'd wanted to. It really was fabulous being surrounded with all the warbirds! Perfect temperature and perfectly protected too while watching the airshow. Another wonderful year and great gin and tonic too.

Bonni Reid at Classic Hardware

Karyn Cantor, owner of Classic Hardware, contacted me awhile back in regards to using some of my artwork for this season's collection! I've been so excited and driven crazy holding off announcing this until I had a "retail" link to post.

All her pieces are just fabulous, and are sold all over the world. I'm honoured that she wanted to include my work with so many wonderful artists such as: KuKula, Kelly Haigh, Kelly Vivanco, Nix Turner, Caia Koopman, Angelina Wrona, Heather Watts, Sandra Frame, Sunny Buick.

Sinner Bonni Reid at La Luz de Jesus

Dateline: Los Angeles, California -  From June 6th to the 29th, locals and wandering gypsies alike will be able to ogle the finely crafted and delicately honed artwork of Bonni Reid at the world renowned La Luz de Jesus Gallery in a duo show with Cameron Tiede.

The artist herself will be in attendance at the opening on Friday the 6th, graciously accepting compliments and money, preferably the latter.

Billy Shire Fine Arts / DVA Chicago Show

Billy Shire Fine Arts Gallery in collaboration with DVA Gallery is having a Group Show which I’ll also be attending in Chicago.

What makes this trip all the more fabulous is that I’ll finally get to meet my new nephew Jack! If it weren’t for him I’d probably would have skipped going altogether given my current situation which includes a hell of a lot of painting, but there’s no way I could pass up on meeting him!

I didn't break it, nor did Rod and even if Weatherwax is uncharacteristically getting onto the counter during the night, I somehow doubt that if she broke it that it would look like this. Also, there was no water on the counter, so it couldn't have been a popping ice cube either. Tis' the season, I guess.

The season for confounding mysteries from beyond the reaches of human sanity, that is!

October Debris

Check out the Fall edition of the online magazine Debris where, upon scrolling down but a jot, you will find the featured artist to be none other than Miss Bonni Reid. (Dignified applause.)

Debris is an online literary/art magazine that publishes quarterly and showcases outstanding literature, art, photography and anything else someone has the creativity to come up with.

Debris is the antithesis of stuffy literature journals and pretentious art magazines. It’s a magazine where everyone has a voice, not just those well versed in literature, art history and design.

With the exception of accepting certain works that are reminiscent of specific seasons, Debris has no theme to encourage creativity and to maintain a broad, open- minded perspective that is representative of life and all of its facets.

In essence, Debris is the garbage that should never have been thrown out.
