Art Forms in Nature (Ernst Haeckel)
This is one of those books that every artist should have, on the shelf next to Gray's Anatomy. Gorgeous illustrations of bizarre plants and animals, so jam packed with ornate curlicues and baroque designs it almost looks like a book of wallpaper.
A book of wallpaper for an interior designer named Mad King Ludwig.
So THAT'S the book, eh? I'm totally diggin' it. It's better looking than the one we saw at the bookstore when you guys were here. It's a MUST have!

I didn't put a publisher down cuz I found a couple of different versions; also, there's another "art forms in Nature" with a greeny-brown cover, which I don't have. I'm pretty sure I've got a Dover edition in storage somewhere, too. I seem to remember pages of diatoms, which were fascinating.
I'll do a post about that crazy book of Kamala's on Victorian aquariums, once I dig up the email.
