Tom's friend Christine writes:
The production department said they wouldn't have any work for me for about three hours, so I decided to take myself on a gothic field trip. I queued Bauhaus up on my iPod, bundled up in my black-as-doom jacket and sparkly black-and-red scarf, and headed to Bergdorf Goodman. Yep, Bergdorf Goodman. In conjunction with a piece in House & Garden magazine (this is just getting less gothic by the second, isn't it?) the windows at Bergdorfs are done up in "Gothic Splendor." I wasn't really sure what to expect, as I hadn't seen the magazine, but for some reason I was thinking more along the line of mannequins done up like Troma-movie deathrockers.
Thankfully, I was wrong. The windows are gorgeous, much more Victorian memento mori, complete with bones, feathers, and shiny, green beetles. I did my best to capture them on my little cameraphone. Still reveling in the doom and gloom and beauty of it all, I made my way back to the office. As i walked past Radio City Music Hall, I was rudely snapped out of the delicous darkness by a sighting of Ryan Seacrest filming something on the sidewalk I was walking down. The horror!
Many, many thanks to Christine for letting the rest of us know, in case we'd forgotten, that New York City is always the coolest place to be. For a few more Flickr images of these beautiful windows, go here, here and here.

I looked and couldn't find it! All those rich women in Calgary already bought it I guess. Bitches.
