I have a book out. You can buy it here.
For those not familiar with "Wombat" - and that would probably be a lot of you - this is a 27th anniversary golden deluxe collection of a comic strip that ran from about 1983 to 1994 in various incarnations and venues. Careening crazily from the youthful heyday of New Wave/Post-Punk to a noir-scented pre-middle age malaise, the strip chronicled the travails of the titular everyguy, grappling with the big questions and providing very little in the way of answers.
Frankly, it's all a little hazy to me now, which leads me to believe that there's more autobiography in there that I once thought.
With a foreword by Buck Cherry of the legendary Vancouver band, the Modernettes, can you really afford not to add this to your obscure collection?
Besides being super funny (with or without vodka), you can totally see the transition in style and where Dry Shave starts to creep in.
Making-out with Fred Gwynne is my fave!
