A piece done up back in the spring for a Video Vulture column about movies that still have yet to see a DVD release. 1932's Island of Lost Souls has topped my list for years, being one of my all time favorite Olde Tymey horror flicks. You get a white-clad Charles Laughton at his sinister, mincing best, Bela freaking out big time behind a pretty outta control mass of facial fur, as well as a menagerie of creepy animal-men make-ups, some that are only glimpsed for a few fleeting seconds as they lurk in the dense, shadowy jungle setting. And let's not forget sexy, slinky Kathleen Burke as Lota the Panther Girl, a totally unique '30's babe.
