I recently bought this charming handmade mug at local tea merchant The Naked Leaf, because who can resist drinking fancy licorice tea out of crockery decorated with adorable baby Cthulhus?

Well, not me, that's for certain. Even though I truly did LOL at the sight of a Sheela na gig-encrusted tea cup (seriously, WTH?), an even bigger laugh came when the store owner told me about an earlier customer who had been utterly entranced by the mug adorned with squee-inducing "baby squids".

FFWD piece about the Last Chance Saloon in Wayne, AB (near Drumheller, just a bit further down the road from the famous wobbly suspension bridge). You have to cross over 11 one-way bridges to get there, but by all accounts, is a really great night out in the middle of nowhere.

Tubby Dog delights

Yesterday we did our annual trek down to 17th Ave to see the Halloween window displays (all two of them) and then of course we needed refreshment. And what is more refreshing than a hot dog smothered in peanut butter and jelly, with Captain Crunch cereal sprinkled on top, and a delicious cold Heineken to wash it all down? Not much, I can tell you.
